The newest update to Gran Turismo Sport adds 7 new cars, and the long awaited ability to purchase in game items with real money. Jokes aside, this new “feature” may be the start of a large step back for one of the largest racing games out there.
According to Engadget, “This isn’t a pay-to-win situation, as some may have feared. You can still buy all of these cars with in-game credits, and you can’t purchase the top-end vehicles with real money … only vehicles costing under 2 million credits are available as DLC.”
While some may see this as a welcome addition to decrease the grind in the game, it is ignorant not to think that additions to games like this are just small steps down a dangerous path we’ve all been down before.
