Red Dead Online launch gets a smaller release window; PS4 gets content early

Red Dead Redemption 2’s multiplayer made was previously said to be planned for release sometime in Noveber, but Take Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has since teased its release.

Zelnick says the the mode is scheduled to release at the end of this month. It isn’t the clearest of release windows, but its the best we’ve gotten so far.

Red Dead Online will begin its lifecycle in a beta state, and Rockstar expects some issues with the initial launch of the mode. Hopefully it’s not as bad as GTA Online’s launch.

What is definitely a disappointment to hear is that certain content will be available to PS4 players 30 days earlier than Xbox One players, aka it will be locked away from Xbox users because Take Two Interactive wants more money.

It’s sad to see the continual locking of content on multi-platform games, but it doesn’t look like the end of that practice is anywhere near.
