Players break Fallout 76 using in-game nukes, Elder Scrolls VI engine will be using the same engine

It’s not surprising to many now that Fallout 76 is extremely buggy. Well, some players decided to have some fun in the game by launching 3 nukes at the same time.

Apparently a 20 year old game engine isn’t able to handle the load the the nukes put on it.

The saddest thing about this story isn’t the broken nature of Fallout 76 or its dated engine. It’s that this engine is planned on being used for the upcoming Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6.

In an interview with Forbes, Todd Howard said, “Fallout 76 uses a new renderer, a new lighting system and a new system for the landscape generation. For Starfield even more of it changes. And for The Elder Scrolls 6, out there on the horizon even more. We like our editor. It allows us to create worlds really fast and the modders know it really well. There are some elementary ways we create our games and that will continue because that lets us be efficient and we think it works best.”

With Fallout 76’s poor sales number coming out (down more than 80%), one could only hope Bethesda sees that its time to evolve their ancient tech.
