Epic Games is making cross-platform play easier to implement

Epic Games is already on a roll with the release of the newly created Epic Games Store, but they’re upping their game even more by making it easier for developers to implement cross-platform play in their games.

Epic Games currently plans to release their Fortnite-tested cross platform service in waves.

The service will include cross platform matchmaking, cloud based saves, voice chat, and achievements.

The service will begin its roll out in 2019, and will not only be free for all developers, but will be open on all engines, platforms, and stores.

It honestly sounds too good to be true, but we’ll have to see just how good this service really is for developers.
