Over 7 million emails have been breached in the recent hacking of BlankMediaGames, creator of the popular browser-based multiplayer game Town of Salem.
This is the company’s first ever issue with a data breach, but the large amount of emails makes this case extremely significant. According to DeHashed, an email was received on December 28, 2018, that provided “evidence of server access and provided the complete database for disclosure.”
According to the site, the data affected includes but isn’t limited to:
Usernames, emails, passwords, IP addresses, game and forum activity, and payment information. Some users who paid for premium features also had their billing information/data breached as well.
A total count of 7,633,234 unique emails were affected by the breach.
DeHashed has attempted to reach out to BlankMediaGames multiple times over the previous 5 days, but BlankMediaGames has failed to respond or give any sort of statement.
Currently, BlankMediaGames has failed to acknowledge DeHashed’s emails or even acknowledge the data breach.
