Alien: Isolation is just another mobile game disappointment

The end of 2018 has been pretty rough on the the games industry. The multiple controversies surrounding Fallout 76, the abysmal announcement of Diablo: Immortal, the continual downfall of the Battlefield series, and the departure of multiple executives from Activision Blizzard are all fresh on the minds of many surrounding the industry.

Well sadly, there’s even more bad news.

For a long while now, fans of the Alien: Isolation game have been waiting of a sequel. Theories started really spinning up around the time of the game awards when the phrase “Worlds will change” started popping up everywhere from the official website to Hideo Kojima’s Twitter where he was visiting 20th Century Fox studios.

Eventually, it was found out that the phrase was simply the Game Awards’ slogan that was being used for promotion, but fans hadn’t lost hope yet.

Too bad for them though, the bad news broke today, and the long-awaited sequel ended up being a mobile game.

That’s right, the sequel to Alien: Isolation, titled Alien: Blackout, will be a mobile-only game.

Fans and critics are bashing the game without hesitation.

Even worse than that, the game’s description makes it sound like a Five Nights at Freddy’s spin-off.

“Using only the space station’s limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, attempt to remain hidden and protect your crew from the perfect hunter in seven fear-inducing levels.”

You can check out more about the game on the official website, but I wouldn’t even give it a second glance.
