EA cancels open world Star Wars game

For a long while now, fans have been in an outcry about the state of Star Wars games. Battlefront 1 and 2 were seen as a disaster by many fans’ standards, and it doesn’t look like EA’s handling of the Star Wars license is going to satisfy fans any time soon.

Reports are currently circulating that EA has canceled the upcoming open world Star Wars title.

This news comes from three sources that each have their own familiarities with the on-goings at EA. EA’s Vancouver studio was heading the development of the came.

The game had been in development since 2017 when EA closed down Visceral Games, developer for the Dead Space series, who was also working on a Star Wars game code named Ragtag at the time.

Visceral’s Star Wars game was canceled and morphed into the open world Star Wars game that has now been canceled.

Developer Respawn, creators of the Titanfall games, is currently developing a Star Wars game titled Jedi: Fallen Order, and the game is set to release sometime in Fall 2019.
