During today’s Resident Evil 2 launch celebration broadcast, a new ‘Ghost Survivors’ mode was revealed to be coming to Resident Evil 2 via post-launch update.

The Ghost Survivors update will come free of charge to all Resident Evil 2 players and hopes to add plenty of replayability to the horrifying single player game.

The mode will allow players to explore the game world with new randomized elements added into the mix. Along your way you’ll earn points based on how well your doing which you can spend in the in-game shop. The in-game shop will not support micro-transaction as well.

Developers on Stream compared Ghost Survivors to the Extreme Battle mode in the original Resident Evil 2.

The mode will also allow players to play as newly confirmed characters such as Robert Kendo, the mayor’s daughter Katherine, and a USS member.
