If you’ve been waiting for the grand strategy game, Stellaris, to hit consoles for a while, that wait is finally coming to an end.
Paradox has confirmed the release date for Stellaris: Console edition to be February 26, 2019 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
Stellaris is a strategy game that takes place over entire galaxies – hence the ‘grand’ in ‘grand strategy’. Players will have the ability to shape laws, make trades, participate in skirmishes, begin gigantic wars, and more.
At launch, console players can choose between 2 versions of the game, the Standard Edition or the Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition comes with exactly what’s expected, the game with no extras, while the Deluxe Edition comes bundled with the Plantoids Species Pack, the Leviathans Story Pack, and the Utopia Expansion.
All extras included in the Deluxe Edition are expected to be released to the Standard Edition at a later date at an added cost.
The game has underwent a massive UI overhaul to help the game adapt to the smaller amount of buttons on console controllers. With the help of the team behind the port of Cities Skylines, Tantalus Media, Stellaris will be the first grand strategy game to ever come to consoles.
