The anticipation for Metroid Prime 4 has been huge ever since its trailer at E3 2017. Since then though, we haven’t gotten any news on the title.
However, Nintendo has released an official statement regarding some of what’s been going on behind the scenes.
Sadly, the news revealed to us by Nintendo wasn’t what people had been hoping for. Metroid Prime 4 has been officially delayed. There never was a release date or window at all before, but the game is even further out now than it we had thought.
According to Nintendo, the game wasn’t reaching the standards they had hoped for. Nintendo has decided to switch development studios , and development will be restarting from the beginning to help make the game live up to the high expectations that both Nintendo and fans have for the Metroid Prime series.
Nintendo hasn’t released any word on who was originally working on the game, but the new studio taking on development will be Retro Studios, the original creators of the Metroid Prime series.
