Oculus Rift S to be revealed at GDC 2019

GDC, Games Developers Conference, is a common place to reveal upcoming gaming technology, and it looks like among those reveals will be the rumored Oculus Rift S.

In an email sent from Facebook to a number of Oculus developers, it’s suggested that the Oculus Rift S will be revealed at the upcoming GDC event.

UploadVR was able to confirm that the email recieved by the Oculus developers made mention of the Oculus Rift S along with the Oculus Go and Oculus Quest.

The existence of the Oculus Rift S was recently discovered by TechCrunch. The Rift S was found within supporting files of the Oculus Rift, and mentions a number of improvements compared to the current Oculus Rift.

As of now, it’s currently hard to pinpoint a purchasable Oculus Rift online as the Rift is no longer available on Amazon, Best Buy, or Microsoft in the US, and Newegg has removed the Rift’s listing entirely.

Signs are definitely pointing towards a Rift successor sometime soon.
