Call of Duty is coming to iOS and Android

In a surprise announcement, it’s been revealed that Call of Duty is getting a full game on mobile devices.

The game will include a fully playable multiplayer mode featuring numerous iconic maps from throughout the Call of Duty franchise. The trailer also teases what looks to be a zombies mode with some new enemies and a mobile port of Blackout.

Whether or not you’re a fan of Call of Duty, this is definitely an interesting reveal from the folks at Activision. Whether or not it’s successful is still to be seen, but Call of Duty’s fast paced multiplayer matches seem like they would be a decent fit for mobile devices.

The game is developed by China’s Tencent, which makes sense considering China has had their own exclusive free-to-play Call of Duty title on PC for quite a while now. The title for mobile will be free-to-play as well, and will feature core Call of Duty gameplay that fans will be familiar with.

Call of Duty Mobile is currently available for pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play Store. A beta will soon be available for those who pre-register.
