The long awaited PlayStation feature is finally releasing today. Players can officially change their PSN IDs.
Games released after April 1, 2018, have been developed to support the change, but Sony says there is no guarantee that games will work flawlessly with the PSN ID change. Not all games have been tested for the change, but a large amount have been officially tested.
You can make the change via the PlayStation 4 itself or through logging into your PlayStation account in a web browser.
To make the change via web browser:
- Sign in to your PSN account and select PSN Profile in the menu
- Select the ‘Edit’ button next to your PSN ID
- Enter your desired PSN ID
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change
To make the change from within the PS4:
- Go to the setting menu
- Select “Account Mangement” > “Account Information” > “Profile” > “Online ID”
- Enter your desired PSN ID
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the change
