The hype is picking back up as the long awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake finally resurfaced after years of being hidden away.
The last time we got a peak of the title was all the way back at E3 2015, and even then it was only a teaser trailer debuting the title.
But yesterday during the PlayStation State of Play Square Enix dropped in a new teaser trailer detailing that more info about the remake will be coming in June.
Taking a look at Square Enix’s official Japanese website, it’s also detailed that the game will be releasing in an episodic fashion.
“そして PlayStation®4で生まれ変わる『ファイナルファンタジーVII リメイク』は、フルリメイクを行うにあたり内容の多くを見直し、分作として制作を進めています。6月には新情報をお知らせしますので、どうぞご期待ください。”
And, “Final Fantasy VII Remake”, which will be reborn on PlayStation®4, will be reworked as a separate work, with many of the contents being reviewed when performing a full remake. We will notify you of new information in June, so please stay tuned. -via Google Translate
According to Developer Yoshinori Kitase, who was working on FFVII before its developer change, the game will be releasing in episodes because if it didn’t, then the game would never get finished.
Square Enix’s website is the newest confirmation that regardless of the game’s switching of hands, it will still be releasing in episodes.
