The next installment in the Call of Duty franchise has finally been revealed to be a Modern Warfare game, but it’s not the Modern Warfare 4 we all anticipated it to be.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, not to be confused with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, will be a soft reboot for the Modern Warfare franchise. The brand new trailer shows off the game’s shiny new graphics as well as revealing the October 25, 2019, release date.
Modern Warfare will feature a full-length single-player campaign as well as the traditional multiplayer mode.
The campaign mode is split into two halves. One of which sees you fighting as a Tier 1 Special Forces Operator, and in the other half you’ll be playing as a Middle Eastern rebel fighter.
The gritty realism Infinity Ward is attempting to bring to Call of Duty Modern Warfare seems like it will be a welcome change for fans who have actively let their displeasure about Black Ops 4’s silliness be known online.
