The long awaited newest entry to the Animal Crossing franchise finally had its release date revealed during Nintendo’s E3 Direct, but its’a bit of a delay from what Nintendo had originally intended.
According to Nintendo, the delay is intended to help the game’s developers have a better work to life ration and to help combat hard crunch time.
It’s great to see Nintendo working to combat the poor work environments that have plagued much of the game development industry for so long.
While the long awaited follow-up to New Leaf may be farther away than many were waiting for, the reasoning behind the delay means that Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be more of a labor of love than a labor of hard crunch time.
Nintendo’s E3 Direct also gave us a better look at some of the features within New Horizons including a look at the ability to harvest materials and craft items, similar to Minecraft-style systems.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons will release on March 20, 2020.
