GOG Galaxy 2.0 introduces Microsoft as a partner

The newest, and actually most interesting, game launcher on the block will be bringing Microsoft in as an official sponsor to add even more functionality to the launcher.

For those who don’t know, GOG Galaxy 2.0 is a new PC game launcher from CD Projekt, the company behind GOG and parent company of CD Projekt Red, makers of The Witcher series and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, and it plans to fix the multiple game launcher ecosystem for all PC players.

GOG Galaxy 2.0 combines all your game launchers into one single launcher. You’ll be able to play all your games from almost every launcher installed on your PC, and you’ll be able to chat with your friends across the various game launchers as well. You can learn more about the launcher on the official GOG Galaxy 2.0 announcement page, and you can sign up for the beta here.

According to the German video games magazine Gamestar, Microsoft has officially partnered with the GOG Galaxy 2.0 launcher.

GOG Project Head Piotr Karwoski said that,”we showed Phil Spencer our application and he was immediately enthusiastic because this merge of platforms is exactly what Microsoft also wants to promote.”

The new launcher seems like it will include the integration of the new Xbox Games Pass for PC, and down the road could even feature chat between PC and Xbox players.
