Intel plans to launch their discrete graphics line with a $200 starting price point

In an interview with Russian YouTuber PRO Hi-Tech, Intel’s chief architect and senior vice president of architecture, software and graphics Raja Koduri discussed the future of Intel’s discrete graphics line.

He stated in the interview that Intel plans on their first GPU releasing to be a mid-range card for only $200.

Koduri says that he and Intel want to replicate AMD’s strategy of capturing the more budget-oriented high-volume price points in the GPU market.

Koduri also said that Intel plans on targeting price, not performance, to provide the best possible value to its customers.

Intel plans on releasing a full line of GPUs within the next 2 to 3 years using a similar architecture for intergrated GPUs, dedicated GPUs, and even data-center GPUs.
