Battlefield V preorders are low as chief design officer heads out

While it may be no news to some, Battlefield V’s preorders are low according to analyst group Cowen. This report comes after the departure of EA’s chief design officer, Patrick Söderlund.

Söderlund had been with the company for a long time, but he recently came under fire when he called his fanbase uneducated as well as telling them to accept the game’s political statements or don’t buy it.

Many articles atribute the lack of preorders to an unlucky release window between Red Dead Redemption II and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, but Battlefield V has numerous problems.

A large number of poeple are already tired with Battlefield’s past setting after Battlefield 1, and some people see Battlefield V as only more Battlefield 1. While all this , including Söderlund’s piss-poor attempt to communicate with his audience, are to blame for Battlefield V’s lack of sales, it does seem EA continues to disappoint basically everyone.
